Profile

Shannon assists clients in a wide range of data privacy and compliance issues. She uses her legal research and writing skills to serve clients concerning various state, federal, and international cybersecurity and data privacy laws.

Shannon holds certification as a Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States (CIPP/US) and Certified Information Privacy Professional/Asia (CIPP/A), by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the largest global information privacy community for professionals who have developed their careers managing data privacy. She has experience with various data privacy and cybersecurity regimes including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), China’s Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL), the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), New York Stop Hacks and Improve Electronic Data Security Act (SHIELD Act), as well as state specific biometric privacy laws. She also closely monitors the development of new and upcoming compliance obligations for clients in the rapidly evolving cybersecurity and data privacy legal landscape, including the passage of new international, federal, and state privacy and cybersecurity laws and standards. Her practice includes issues related to data privacy and cybersecurity compliance, data breach response, and transactional work such as contract review involving data privacy and cybersecurity issues.

Prior to joining Bond, Shannon attended Syracuse University College of Law where she served as a student law clerk to the Honorable Matthew J. Doran, a judge for the Onondaga County Court in the Fifth Judicial District of New York and as an extern for SRC, Inc. She also worked as a legal research and writing assistant to Professor Aliza Milner.
