Michael is experienced in all aspects of patent prosecution including conducting inventor interviews, performing prior art searches and rendering patentability or freedom-to-operate opinions, drafting provisional and non-provisional applications, responding to Office Actions, conducting examiner interviews, and preparing ex parte appeal briefs. Michael also has experience preparing and prosecuting design patent applications. With his background in physics, Michael has a keen understanding of a wide range of mechanical and electromechanical technologies including wind turbines, commercial fryers, fiber optics, product labeling and consumer products.

Prior to joining Bond, Michael practiced law at a boutique intellectual property law firm in Cincinnati, Ohio, with a practice focus on patent preparation and prosecution as well as patentability searches and opinions. During his education at the University of Notre Dame Law School, Michael was a legal intern at the Notre Dame Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship Clinic where he advised on the patentability of inventions, prepared patent applications, and performed trademark clearance searches for clients of the clinic. Before attending law school, Michael earned a degree in Mathematical Physics from the University at Buffalo Honors College.
