George is a registered patent attorney and member of the firm's intellectual property and technology practice.
He concentrates in all facets of intellectual property law, including, patent and trademark preparation and prosecution, litigation involving intellectual property issues, due diligence investigations in M&A and financial transactions, proceedings before various government agencies related to these matters, along with computer/software law and Internet matters.
George has represented higher education institutions and private companies in a variety data breach incidents. When breaches have been discovered, George was brought in to review the circumstances and determine whether notification obligations were triggered - including a review of the rules and statutes applicable in a wide swath of states and countries where impacted individuals were located. Where notification obligations were triggered, he has assisted in drafting notification letters and notifying appropriate authorities. George has worked with public relations firms in guiding and drafting press releases concerning these events. He is also a long-time adjunct faculty member and has taught Internet Law at the Syracuse University School of Law for the past 10 years, and taught courses on software and computer law prior to that.
