Delaney has experience assisting colleges and universities regarding compliance with the New York Not-for-Profit Corporation Law and New York Prudent Management of Institutional Funds Act, including preparing formation documents for affiliated and subsidiary entities, advising on bylaws best practices, and drafting conflict of interest, whistleblower and investment policies. In addition, she advises New York higher education institutions on business and tax considerations with respect to hiring telecommuting employees across the nation.

She also counsels colleges and universities when working with philanthropic donors. Specifically, she assists institutions in designing scholarship programs in compliance with state and federal laws, including but not limited to Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, as well as with drafting charitable gift agreements. Her experience working closely with advancement offices has been instrumental in informing her representation of clients before the New York State Office of the Attorney General and New York States Courts when requesting cy pres relief for modifications of donor restrictions on the purposes, management or investment of institutional funds.
