Brendan is a registered patent attorney with experience advising clients on issues related to intellectual property. His engineering background has enabled him to work across technical disciplines and help clients realize the full scope of their technologies. He currently focuses his practice on patent prosecution, but has experience advising clients on patent litigation, inter partes reviews, trademark prosecution, and trademark litigation matters.

With respect to his patent experience, Brendan has experience in the following scientific and technological fields: medical devices, patient monitoring, and other biomedical applications; organic and inorganic chemistry, as well as polymer materials; imaging and optics, including ultrasound imaging, magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, spectroscopy, and hyperspectral imaging; electronics and circuitry, including computer and circuit designs, power management circuits, and others; software-related applications; and mechanical and aerospace technologies. Brendan’s work has spanned all aspects of patent prosecution, including drafting provisional and non-provisional applications, responding to office actions, conducting examiner and inventor interviews and providing formal opinions. Brendan also has experience researching and reviewing open source licenses.

Prior to joining Bond, Brendan practiced intellectual property at a firm in Cleveland, Ohio. During his education at Case Western Reserve University School of Law Brendan served as the Managing Editor of the Journal of Law, Technology & the Internet and the Co-President of the Student Intellectual Property Law Association. Before attending law school, Brendan earned a degree in Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University, with focuses on tissue engineering, computer science and computer engineering.
