What to Know About ‘Freelance Isn’t Free Act’

Redmond briefly recapped her presentation on Article 44-A of the New York General Business Law, more commonly known as the “Freelance Isn’t Free Act” (FIFA). The new law, which went into effect August 28, 2024, creates several protections for freelance workers retained as independent contractors, including requirements for written contracts and timely payments.
