What a New Administration Could Mean for Labor, Employment and Immigration Law

December 11, 2024

By: Katherine S. McClung, James E. McGrath, III, and Kseniya Premo

For this week’s special edition of Bond’s Business in 2024 webinar, three of our labor and employment attorneys gazed into their crystal balls to predict how a change in the administration might impact several areas of the law relevant to employers in 2025.

  • James E. McGrath III talked about what might be in store for the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), including a change in leadership as soon as Inauguration Day.
  • Kseniya Premo took a look at what immigration (as it relates to employment) might look like in the post-election era, such as increased onsite inspections and of worksites by Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE) and audits by the Department of Labor.
  • Katherine S. McClung predicted the incoming administration will rescind several  rules passed by President Biden, including one in July that raised the minimum salary levels for Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) exemptions.
