Update on New York State COVID-19 Sick Leave
January 27, 2021
As a bonus to Bond’s Jan. 26 webinar about the evolving legal implications of COVID-19 for business, Bond labor and employment attorney Theresa E. Rusnak recorded a short video to answer questions about the new guidance on New York COVID sick leave released last week by the Department of Labor.
The NY COVID-19 Sick Leave Law originally was enacted March 18, 2020, to grant employees paid or unpaid sick time (depending on employer size) when subject to an order of quarantine or isolation issued by New York State. Updated guidance was released Jan. 20, 2021.
The full presentation covered the following topics:
- NYC COVID Paid Leave – DOL Guidance Questions and Answers
- HIPAA and Medical Information – Recurring COVID Related Questions
- Update from Albany
