Things to Consider When Considering a Mandatory Vaccination Policy
February 10, 2021
By: Andrew D. Bobrek
As a bonus to Bond’s Feb. 9 webinar about the evolving legal implications of COVID-19 for business, Bond labor and employment attorney Andrew D. Bobrek recorded a short video to answer some questions employers might be having about issues related to the new vaccinations.
One of the most frequently asked questions about the new COVID-19 vaccines: Can employers require their workers to be vaccinated? The short answer, Andy said, is yes. But there are special circumstances businesses will need to consider, such as requests for accommodation from employees who have disabilities or religious convictions that prevent them from receiving the vaccine.
“There isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach to this issue,” Andy cautioned.
The full presentation covered the following topics:
- Vaccine Update I – Where Do We Stand
- Vaccine Update II – Mandates, Refusals, Paid Time Off, etc.
- Operating Plans – Pitfalls and Approaches
- Update from Albany
