Statement in Support of AAPI Communities and Against Bias
Recent incidents of hate crimes, bias, and harassment remind us that we must be vigilant in our efforts to be anti-racist and work to create a more just society.
Over the course of the last year, we have seen a troubling increase in racially motivated hate crimes involving physical violence and harassment, targeting fellow Americans of Asian and Pacific Island descent. These incidents have included inflammatory and xenophobic rhetoric and acts of violence. These heinous acts damage our society and create untold worry and fear for many innocent people in communities across the United States.
Bond Schoeneck & King is committed to the promotion of anti-racism and intentional diversity throughout our communities, the legal profession, and our firm. We stand against bias and racism in all forms and stand with the communities affected. Advancing racial equity and economic inclusion for people of all races, gender identities, sexual orientations, abilities, religions, and ethnicities is critical to the safety and security of all of us. Being aware of these acts of racist violence and harassment is the first step. We must all work to educate ourselves and to take a stand against incidents of discrimination, bias and assault and work to dismantle the structures in place that perpetuate discrimination. There is much work left to do.
