Second Circuit Clarifies Reasonable Accommodation Standard

As a follow-up to this week’s Business in 2025 webinar, Bond labor and employment attorney Stephanie H. Fedorka recorded a brief overview of a recent Second Circuit decision that clarified the standard for reasonable accommodation for employees under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The case involved a teacher diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) who was allowed to take 15-minute breaks off campus, until the school district altered its policy on leaving school grounds. The teacher sued the district for failing to accommodate her disability. A district court ruled against her, but the Second Circuit on March 25 vacated that ruling.

Topics covered in today’s webinar:

  • Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) Interim Final Rule
  • Warehouse Worker Injury Reduction Program
  • Second Circuit Decision: Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
