New York State’s Clean Slate Act Takes Effect Soon

Harshbarger presented the event’s only topic: a review of New York State’s Clean Slate Act, which goes into effect Nov. 16. The new law will seal criminal records for most individuals convicted of a crime so that they will not come up in an employer background check.
