New York’s LLC Transparency Act: Exemption Available for LLC Subsidiaries of Nonprofits
February 5, 2025
As a follow-up to this week’s Business in 2025 webinar, Bond attorney Delaney M. R. Knapp talked about New York’s LLC Transparency Act (NYLTA), which requires limited liability companies (LLCs) to disclose detailed information about their owners to the Department of State. Although most LLCs that are owned by nonprofit organizations are exempt from NYLTA reporting, an initial exemption filing, followed by ongoing annual filings, must be made in order to take advantage of the exemption.
Topics covered in today’s webinar:
- New York State FY ’26 Budget as Proposed
- Bill Activity in the New Legislative Session
