Mike Glazier and Rick Evrard Recognized by Sports Business Journal as Power Players: Outside Counsel
October 28, 2021
(Kansas City, KS): Bond, Schoeneck & King PLLC is pleased to announce that Mike Glazier and Richard Evrard of the firm's collegiate sports practice have been named by Sports Business Journal as 2021 Power Players: Outside Counsel. Both were previously recognized by the industry magazine for their work as outside counsel in the publication's only prior list in 2016.
Specializing in college athletics, Glazier and Evrard have represented numerous universities in compliance matters, including a Division I institution, which in 2017 avoided NCAA penalties in an academic fraud scandal. Glazier also represents another Division I NCAA member institution stemming from the recruitment of a high profile prospective student-athlete in a pay-for-play scheme during the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons and in an alleged academic fraud violation. In Evrard’s 20-plus years of college athletics representation, he has consulted with members of the Southeastern, Atlantic Coast, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12, Big East, American Athletic, Big West and Big South conferences and Conference USA.
Bond’s Kansas City office is home to the firm’s nationwide collegiate sports practice group. The group has been recognized as the leading provider of consulting services to National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) member institutions in the areas of major and secondary infractions cases; compliance program reviews and audits; student-athlete eligibility reinstatement; rules interpretations and governance issues; and other NCAA-related concerns.
