Mariam Mahmood-Qureshi Joins Bond, Schoeneck & King

(New York, NY): Bond, Schoeneck & King is pleased to announce that Mariam Mahmood-Qureshi has joined the firm as senior counsel in its school law and higher education practices.
Mahmood-Qureshi comes to Bond from the Office of General Counsel of the New York City Department of Education where she worked for more than 14 years, first as a staff attorney and the last eight years as Director of the Special Education Unit within the Office of General Counsel. At the Department of Education, Mahmood-Qureshi led the team that handled administrative special education due process hearings and related appeals to the New York State Education Department’s State Review Office. She also played a major role in developing procedures for expedited dispute resolution of complaints. Mahmood-Qureshi is a graduate of New York Law School and the University of Karachi.
Mahmood-Qureshi will be working closely with public school districts, nonpublic schools, pre-schools, charter schools, and other business and not-for-profit entities that provide or advise on a range of educational programs. She will also consult with the firm’s higher education clients on student issues.
