Mike Grinnell, Haylor, Freyer & Coon, Inc.
Mike brings over 20 years of employee benefits experience to Haylor, Freyer & Coon and provides management support in the analysis and servicing of all Haylor's clients. Mike's expertise comes from both the carrier and agency sides of the business. He joined the HF&C in 2006 as Vice President of the Group Benefits Department. Prior to that he was with United Healthcare (UHC), in a capacity to work with UHC actuaries for pricing of benefits. Mike redesigned company health benefit products marketed in Central New York, to more appropriately serve the marketplace in both structure and price.
Mike has extensive knowledge and experience with implementing and servicing self funded groups. He has successfully implemented self funded health benefit and pharmacy benefit plans for numerous clients in the public and private sector. Mike serves on the Broker Advisory Committees of two prominent health insurance carriers in the Central New York market

Steve is a graduate of Utica College of Syracuse University (B.S., magna cum laude, 1980) and Syracuse University College of Law (J.D., magna cum laude, 1987), where he was a member of the Syracuse Law Review (1985-1987; Technical Editor, 1986-1987) and the Justinian Honorary Law Society and awarded the Order of the Coif.
Steve is Chair of BS&K's Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Practice Group and practices in all areas of employee benefits and executive compensation law, including qualified and non-qualified pension and welfare benefit plans. His areas of experience include: stock-based plans and arrangements (such as stock bonus plans, ESOPs, stock option plans, and phantom stock plans); tax-sheltered annuity plans for tax-exempt organizations; group-term life insurance plans; insured and self-funded group health plans; severance and early retirement incentive plans; executive employment and deferred compensation agreements; change of control ("golden parachute") arrangements; and ERISA litigation.
