Bond Elects Six New Members

(Syracuse, NY): Bond, Schoeneck & King is pleased to announce that effective January 1, 2024, six attorneys have been elected members (partners) of the firm. The new members are Paul J. Buehler III (Labor and Employment – Albany), Seth F. Gilbertson (Labor and Employment – Buffalo), Nicholas P. Jacobson (Labor and Employment – Rochester), Timothy N. McMahon (Litigation – Syracuse), Amy G. Rhinehardt (Property – Syracuse) and Michael Sheridan (Collegiate Sports – Kansas City).
Bond Member Bios:
Paul J. Buehler III (Albany) represents clients in a variety of complex labor and employment matters, in federal and state court, and before various administrative agencies. He has successfully litigated numerous cases involving allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, unfair labor practices, and wage and hour issues. Buehler regularly counsels businesses regarding workplace policies, reasonable accommodations and leaves of absence, employee discipline, workplace investigations, employee compensation and labor relations.
Seth F. Gilbertson (Buffalo) brings direct experience in labor and employment, student affairs, investigations, and regulatory compliance matters to his clients, with an emphasis on educational institutions and nonprofits. Having served as a senior in-house advisor and outside counsel to institutions of all sizes, including the State University of New York (SUNY) system, Upstate Medical University and the University at Buffalo, Seth understands the needs of a variety of institutional clients.
Nicholas P. Jacobson (Rochester) assists employers with a variety of workplace issues to avoid litigation and effectively manage their workforce. He counsels employers regarding discrimination and harassment investigations, drafting employment and separation agreements, restrictive covenants, labor relations and compliance with state and federal laws. Jacobson is also an experienced litigator who regularly defends employers in discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour, and other employment matters.
Timothy N. McMahon (Syracuse) represents individuals, corporations, insurance companies, municipalities, universities and school districts, as both plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation matters in state and federal courts. McMahon is well versed in all phases of civil litigation, including pretrial discovery, motion practice, trial and appellate practice. He concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, declaratory judgment actions, insurance coverage disputes, environmental disputes, personal injury, premises liability, products liability, construction law and motor vehicle accidents.
Amy G. Rhinehardt (Syracuse) assists clients with a wide range of real estate matters including the purchasing, selling, development and financing of various types of commercial properties. Rhinehardt has worked extensively with landlords and tenants negotiating complex commercial leasing matters and regularly handles the real estate components of business transactions. She also assists a wide range of clients including small and large businesses, school districts, lenders, higher education institutions, developers and nonprofit corporations.
Michael Sheridan (Kansas City) is a member in Bond’s nationally recognized Collegiate Sports Practice Group advising colleges and universities, individuals and organizations across the country in all areas of NCAA rules and regulations. Sheridan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Collegiate Sports Practice Group. Prior to joining Bond, he served for more than eight years as Assistant/Associate Director of Enforcement at the NCAA National Office, where he led several high-profile investigations of major rules violations.
