Bernard P. Kennedy Honored by Providence House
July 14, 2015
(Garden City, NY): Bernard P. Kennedy, Co-Managing Member of the firm's Garden City office, and his wife, Lisa Kennedy, were honored for their contributions to Providence House at its People of Hope celebration last month in New York City. Providence House is a not-for-profit organization that helps transition women who are homeless and recently released from prison back into society.
“It’s truly an honor to be associated with an organization like Providence House,” said Bernie Kennedy. “The women to whom they lend critical assistance are among the most vulnerable in our population. With the help of Providence House, many of these women are able to rebuild their lives, and their families.”
Bernie is recognized for commercial leasing, particularly shopping center leasing, and represents both landlords and tenants in leasing transactions throughout the metropolitan area, including King Kullen and a growing list of independent supermarket operators throughout New York City. Clients have included Hofstra University, Kimco Realty, Westbury Realty Ventures, Bogopa, Inc. (a privately owned full-service supermarket company in the Tri-state region) and numerous other corporations and institutions, large and small. He also serves as Acting Labor Counsel and Union Negotiator on behalf of the Village of Williston Park.
A lifelong Long Islander and Point Lookout resident, Bernie has freely given his time and resources to the Long Island community. He has held various positions on the Family and Children’s Association Board, including Board Chair, Executive Committee and Governance Committee. He is on the Board of Directors of St. Joseph’s College and South Nassau Communities Hospital. He’s served the Little Flower Children and Family Services as a Board and Executive Committee Member; and has offered pro bono legal services to residents of drug and alcohol rehabilitation facilities and to 9-11 victims and their families. He is also a Board Member of the Point Lookout Civic Association.
