Adjusting to Changes in State and Federal Mask Requirements
May 20, 2021
By: Erin S. Torcello
As a bonus to Bond’s May 18 webinar about the evolving legal implications of COVID-19 for business, Bond labor and employment attorney Erin S. Torcello recorded a short video about an issue related to new CDC and New York State guidance about mask-wearing.
Specifically, Erin addressed if an employee who has provided proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 can be asked to wear something that easily identifies them as protected and exempt from any mask requirement. In short, the answer is yes as long as a workplace has not made it mandatory for employees to not wear masks.
The full presentation covered the following topics:
- Update from Albany
- Employers and Masking Rules in New York
- HERO Act Review and FAQs
- Mandatory Vaccination Policies and Legal Developments
- Return-to-Work, Stay Remote, Hybrid Work Arrangements and Post-COVID Employoment Trends
