Work Locations: Boston, MA, Buffalo, NY, Rochester, NY and Syracuse, NY.
Position Responsibilities:
The Technology Specialist/Patent Agent at Bond, Schoeneck & King will be involved in a wide variety of IP matters supervised by attorneys, including patent application drafting and prosecution, opinions, and patent litigation. For example, a Technology Specialist/Patent Agent will often interact with inventors; draft patent applications and respond to communications from patent offices during examination of patent applications; conduct prior art searches; assist attorneys in reviewing patent documents and technical literature and preparing patentability, invalidity, and non-infringement opinions; and assist with analyses of issues that arise in patent litigation.
Requirements:
Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in a technical field, such as computer science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, physics, chemistry, or materials science.
Candidates will also preferably have some experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications and must be admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office prior to commencement of employment with the firm.
Candidates must have excellent writing and analytical skills, as well as outstanding academic credentials and strong engineering or scientific research background.
Candidates must possess strong technical skills with attention to detail and high analytical capabilities
