Paralegal, Affirmative Action Specialist

Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC, a law firm of 300 attorneys in over 30 practice groups, is accepting applications for a full-time Paralegal Affirmative Action Specialist to support our Labor and Employment Department. This position can be located in our Syracuse, NY, Buffalo, NY, Rochester, NY, or Albany, NY locations. This position will provide specific expertise in preparing Affirmative Action Plans, conducting statistical analyses of workforce, personnel activity and compensation data, and conferring with attorneys and clients about laws, regulations, and executive orders governing federal contracting compliance issues. This position will also provide support to the Labor & Employment Department, such as performing reduction-in-force adverse impact analyzes and research to support traditional labor services, including collective bargaining, union organizing and campaigns and grievance arbitrations.
Position Responsibilities:

Primary contact with clients to collect and analyze workforce, applicant, compensation and other data necessary for Affirmative Action Plan development and drafting

Drafting of Affirmative Action Plans for clients subject to federal contracting requirements

Primary contact for Affirmative Action and OFCCP compliance

Perform reduction-in-force adverse impact analyzes

Support attorneys in collective bargaining and arbitrations with limited research functions

Support attorneys with litigation, including limited document or form preparation

Support attorneys with DOL, OFCCP and other government compliance reviews and audits
Job Requirements:

Paralegal degree or equivalent experience
-
Experience supporting a labor and employment legal practice preferred

Minimum 5 years of experience preparing Affirmative Action Plans

Excellent verbal and written communication skills for internal and external communication

Ability to work directly with clients professionally, responsibly and confidently

Must be detail-oriented, self-starter and be able to prioritize daily tasks and responsibilities

Exceptional organization and analytical skills

Demonstrate an understanding of EE0-1 and other federal contractor reporting obligations

This position's salary range is between $75,000-$85,000, negotiable based on years of experience.
