Accounts Receivable Collections Specialist

Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC, a law firm of 300 attorneys in over 30 practice groups, is accepting applications for a AR Collections Specialist, to join the Firm's Accounting Department in our Syracuse, New York office. This position will work closely with the Accounts Receivable Specialist, our attorneys, administrative assistants, and clients to collect on unpaid invoices.
Position Responsibilities
- Contact and engage in negotiations with clients to establish payment plans and resolve disputes over billing issues.
- Work closely with administrative assistants and attorneys regarding client billing information.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients while effectively communicating the firms’ payment policies and expectations.
- Execute procedures for accounts that become significantly overdue to ensure alignment on collection strategies and processes.
- Generate weekly and monthly reports on accounts receivable status, aging, and collection efforts for management review.
- Respond to emails in the client support inbox.
- Assist with special projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 1-2 years experience in accounts receivable, billing or collections required, preferably within a professional services or legal environment.
- Associate’s Degree preferred.
- Knowledge of law firm billing practices and Aderant Expert is preferred.
- Working knowledge of MS Office and databases.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to detail and adept at upholding precise/accurate records.
- Capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Ability to ensure confidentiality of client information and maintain professionalism in all communications.
- Ability to sit for up to 8 hours per day at a personal computer.

This position's salary range is between $20 to $25 per hour, negotiable based on years’ experience.
